We’re not a Flash In The Pan business!

When Mike cooked me his favourite squid dish and I bought him a coveted pasta machine for his birthday, we knew we were the perfect match! We are one of those couples who exalt in planning, shopping, cooking and eating food! Following our unbridled passion for all things culinary, we created The Good Food Catering Company in 2004 and continue to delight in all aspects of cooking and serving food that sparks joy and leaves a lasting impression. It’s always a privilege and incredibly rewarding to cater for special occasions, and we’re proud to be recommended by so many venues in Cornwall.

A firm foundation of tireless hard work, relentless attention to detail, and insistence on the highest standards of quality food and service, has earned our reputation as amazing caterers. Our love of local ingredients underpins our dishes, and we cherry pick the best of Cornwall’s land and sea produce to create exceptional tasting dishes which are inspired by the seasons. Providing the perfect combination of careful planning, mouth-watering food, and fabulous service, the Good Food team all work with an infectious enthusiasm that will guarantee your event will be a resounding success.

Meet the team…

Lucy has been obsessed by food and tastes since her secondary school days when her satchel started filling with recipe books! She is a natural born perfectionist and adores sharing her vast experience to provide a very personal and thoughtful planning service. Lucy’s mantra is “If a job’s worth doing, it’s worth doing well!” and that is born out by her attention to detail from the first phone call, through a supportive and meticulous project management service that ensures everything runs smoothly on the event day itself.

Lucy is equally passionate about wellbeing, health and nutrition, and when she’s not planning events, she can be found enjoying yoga, dance or tai chi. Her hunger for learning means she always has her head in a book, and for entertainment she loves cinema, theatre and is a Strictly super fan!

Nouvelle cuisine and fusion confusion!

Mike’s tastebuds were awakened at a young age by his mother’s Staffordshire oatcakes for breakfast, which were a calorific affair but definitely one of life’s great pleasures! Mike’s passion for flavour grew and grew, and he has a heartfelt desire to do everyone proud with the outstanding food he creates with enormous care and attention. Mike’s mantra is “Failing to plan, is planning to fail” and there’s no better feeling for him than seeing the fruits of his labours enjoyed, and being thanked and congratulated by impressed guests, and clients whose expectations have been exceeded.

Mike’s happy place is the kitchen, but when he casts off his chefs’ jacket, he is in his element exploring the Cornish coast and moors either from the saddle of his bike or venturing out on foot with his camera.

Event Managers – The Cream Of The Crop!

The greatest events not only have great food, but fabulous staff service too, and we are delighted to have Helen, Debbie and Jackie, who have all worked with us for many years, to provide expert front of house management. Together with our cheerful and hardworking waiting team, they bring tireless, unflappable energy and a genuine love of taking fantastic care of everybody, which is at the heart of every successful event.

And Not Forgetting…

Event days are wonderful – every week we get to enjoy the most beautiful venues in spectacular locations throughout the county – but the hub of our business is out purpose-designed business premises in Wadebridge, and we wouldn’t want to be without Sarah who comes in to wash up and deep clean our pro kitchen after each event, so we can start work on the next one.

Behind every catered event is a cycle of Plan, Prep, Repeat, and we enjoy inviting you to visit us here in Wadebridge so we can sit down comfortably, get to know each other and plan your event. You’ll be able to see where all the action takes places in our 5-star hygiene rated kitchen and view our wide range of tableware choices for your event. It’s always a pleasure to see the stress melt away from hunched shoulders as couples and event hosts soon realize, we are caterers they can rely on to take care of all their needs.
